* Children's Mental Health Week Poster Contest Winners!!!
Posted on Wednesday 24th March 2010, 4:26pm by Jenah Cason
For the past four years, the Federation of Families of SC, the SC Department of Education, the SC Department of Mental Health, and the SC Council for Children with Behavioral Disorders has sponsored the Children’s Mental Health Week Poster Contest.

One in five children has a diagnosable mental or behavioral health issue and the poster contest is intended to promote critical dialogue in the community around this topic.
The contest information is emailed statewide to schools, mental health centers and other state agencies and partners. This year, nine posters were submitted and nearly 1, 100 people voted online!

Congratulations to Ms. Elizabeth Brown’s students at the Children’s Unit and Girl’s Residential Unit Art Therapy at William S. Hall Psychiatric Institute located in Columbia, SC! Their artwork has earned them $500 and will be distributed throughout the state during 2010 Children’s Mental Health Week awareness events!
